Bradley Cooper: “I would do ‘The Hangover 4’ in an instant”
Bradley Cooper has discussed his eagerness to shoot another instalment of The Hangover in a new interview promoting his forthcoming movie, Maestro.
In the interview, Cooper discussed the reasoning behind his choice to pivot from his past comedic roles to his more recent serious ones. “Are you done with fun?” David Remnick of the New Yorker Radio Hour podcast asked Cooper. “In other words, if another kinda fun comic role came along, it was three months of your life; it’s not Hangover 5 but something of a similar spirit.”
Cooper replied: “Well, I would do Hangover 5. It would be Hangover 4 first, but yeah.”
He added: “I would probably do Hangover 4 in an instant just because I love Todd [Phillips], I love Zach [Galifianakis], I love Ed [Helms] so much, I probably would.”
Cooper explained how the likelihood of a fourth Hangover film is low, saying: “I don’t think Todd’s ever going to do that.”
Cooper’s next release is Maestro, a film delving into the life and contributions of Leonard Bernstein, available for streaming on Netflix starting December 20th.
In a two-and-a-half-star review of the film, Far Out wrote: “It’s hard to understand what Maestro’s intention is. To show Bernstein’s brilliance or portray him as a bit of an egotistical asshole that largely neglected his family despite that brilliance? Whatever Cooper’s intention, he seems to have been able to give a surprising insight into the life of one of the most celebrated figures in the music world”.
Adding: As the film’s title suggests, Bernstein could never just be Bernstein but would forever become Maestro, the man with magic at his fingertips.”
