Bon Jovi kick off Madison Square Garden residency: Here’s everything they played

Bon Jovi got their huge summer underway by kicking off their Madison Square Garden residency in New York on July 7th.

Last week, they warmed up for the official start of their Forever tour by playing two invite-only shows at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, which prepared them for the first of many nights that beckon in New York.

Notably, the set of shows marks the first tour by Bon Jovi since frontman Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal surgery in 2022.

In total, they will play a further eight shows at Madison Square in July.  Then, on August 28th, Bon Jovi will perform in the United Kingdom for the first time since 2019 in Edinburgh, before moving on to Ireland for a date at Croke Park, Dublin, on August 30th.

Lastly, Bon Jovi will wrap up the Forever tour with three dates at London’s historic Wembley Stadium in September.

If their setlist at Madison Square Garden is anything to go by, then fans who have tickets for the upcoming shows are in for a rock ‘n’ roll bonanza.

They kicked things off with a cover of The Beatles’ classic ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’, which they had not played in almost 20 years, before playing cuts such as ‘Beautiful Drug’, ‘Lost Highway’, and ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ during the early part of their set.

Bon Jovi also gave the New York audience renditions of their monster hits ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ midway through their set, as well as giving ‘Living Proof’ from 2024’s Forever its live debut.

The main portion of their set was brought to a close with ‘The House Is Not For Sale’, and ‘Keep The Faith’.

However, it wasn’t long until Bon Jovi returned to send fans packing with a smile after playing ‘I’ll Be There For You’, ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’, ‘Red, White and Jersey’, and ‘Bad Medicine’.

If you don’t have tickets for Bon Jovi’s tour, then, don’t worry, as Jon Bon Jovi previously confirmed it is not a farewell tour, stating, “I don’t think this is anywhere near a farewell tour or anything like that, but if it were, you could trust that these few shows that I’ve announced are going to be joy filled because this gratitude, humility, opportunity to go out there and do it again is all heartfelt.”
