Bon Iver shares two new songs including Danielle Haim collaboration

Bon Iver has continued to tease his new album, Sable, Fable, with the release of two new singles, including a collaboration with Danielle Haim.

Sable, Fable, will be released on April 11th through Jagjaguwar. Justin Vernon announced the release last month with the lead single ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love’. Now, he’s shared ‘Walk Home’ and ‘If Only I Could Wait’, which features a duet with Danielle Haim.

Vernon produced the new album with Jim-E Stack. It was largely made at the Bon Iver musician’s April Base in Wisconsin, which recently underwent renovation after laying dormant for several years.

Work officially began on February 2nd, 2022, when Danielle arrived at the Base with Stack which led to the creation of the duet, ‘If Only I Could Wait’, when they found themselves snowed in at the studio.

The singer-songwriter says of the new songs: “For the second look into Fable, it couldn’t be a single; it had to be a double. First, ‘Walk Home’ is a romp where you can’t wait to pull your clothes off fast enough and jump inside bed with your one true lover. And then – the two of singles – ‘If Only I Could Wait.’ A duet. A bilateral crying question. How long can the two of us hang on to each other?”

Bon Iver released the three-track EP Sable, which is the opening act of Sable, Fable, in 2024. A press release previously explained how the two projects intertwine, stating, “If Sable, was the prologue, then Fable is the book – but together, Sable, Fable is the album, and for that reason it is no fairy tale. There may be something undeniably healing about infatuation, and the intense clarity, focus, honesty and celebration it brings to these songs.”

In addition to Danielle appearing on ‘If Only I Could Wait’, Haim also returned earlier this week with their brand-new single ‘Relationships‘.
