Body of newborn baby found in toilet at Electric Forest festival

Michigan State Police have confirmed that the body of a newborn baby was found in a portable toilet at the Electric Forest festival.

An investigation is currently underway by the Michigan State Police, looking into the tragedy after the discovery was made by cleaning staff at the festival.

In a statement, officials said on social media, “Michigan State Police can confirm that the body of a neonate was found in a portable restroom in the camping area at the Electric Forest festival Sunday morning.”

They added, “The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance. This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no further information to share at this time and there is no known threat to the public.”

No further details have been provided at this time, and police are asking anybody with relevant information to come forward.

Electric Forest is an annual electronic music festival held at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan, which is situated around 60 miles from the Grand Rapids.

This year’s event began on June 24th and wrapped up on June 28th, welcoming names such as Bricknasty, Andy C, SBTRKT, Channel Tres, Madeon, Chris Lake, Sammy Virji, Bipolar Sunshine, and Passion Pit.

Taking to Instagram, the festival reshared the statement from Michigan State Police, and wrote, “Forest Family, it causes us so much pain to have to share this difficult news with you. Michigan State Police continues to investigate this tragic event if you can assist in any way.”

The festival added, “HQ is heartbroken and knows that our Forest Family is as well.”
