‘Bob’s Burgers’ actor Eugene Mirman rescued from burning car following crash in New Hampshire

Eugene Mirman, a voice actor in the hit animated series Bob’s Burgers, was rescued from a burning car in New Hampshire.

The single-vehicle collision took place at a New Hampshire toll plaza at 11:55am on March 31st, with the New Hampshire State Police confirming that the driver had “suffered serious injuries after their vehicle crashed into a toll plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike”.

Additionally, New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte took to social media to thank those who played their role in the rescue mission, writing, “I want to thank the Trooper on my security detail and the bystanders who stepped up to help at the scene of the crash for their brave lifesaving efforts today.”

Ayotte also said she was “praying for the full recovery of the driver who was injured today”.

Now, the injured man has been confirmed to be Mirman, who has voiced Gene Belcher on Bob’s Burgers for the last 15 years.

Mirman’s representative said in a statement to People, “Eugene was in a very scary car accident. He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him. He is grateful to be on the mend.”

They also added, “At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Eugene and his family as he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”

In a press release, local authorities in New Hampshire shared more information about the incident, detailing, “While units were responding, a veteran State Trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail came upon the crash, saw that the vehicle was actively on fire, and observed the driver was still inside.”

The statement continued, “The driver was then pulled from the burning car through a window and brought to safety. Governor Ayotte, along with other witnesses at the scene, provided assistance to the Trooper.”

Mirman, who was born in Moscow and moved to the United States as a four-year-old, is also a stand-up comedian, appearing on shows such as Russell Howard’s Good News, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Flight of the Conchords.
