Listen to Bob Dylan Perform “Lenny Bruce” Live for the First Time in Over a Decade

Bob Dylan played ‘Lenny Bruce’ for the first time in 11 years at his first North American show on Friday. Playing at the Irvine, California venue on his Shot of Love album. Rolling Stone stated that it is the first time since 2008 that Dylan has performed the song live.

The song written for the 1981 album describes a brief taxi ride shared by the two men. The last line in the song Dylan describes “Lenny Bruce was bad, he was the brother that you never had.”

Other stand out moments in the show were “Things Have Changed,” written for the film Wonder Boys. Listen to the performance below, technically phones were banned from the show but as always footage has emerged. As well as the ‘Lenny Bruce’ classic, other additions to the set included “Beyond Here Lies Nothin'”
