Bob Dylan reveals new video for ‘The Night We Called It a Day’
Bob Dylan has released the video for ‘The Night We Called It a Day’. Apart from splitting Dylan’s usual raspy vocals with dulcet crooning, the video takes a more film noir approach as well.
Featuring an incredibly-aged Dylan as the sagging lead protagonist, he dabbles with the devil in Diamante. Cue lots of shadows and plenty of smoking and drinking, and you have the complete set of Film Noire cliches.
All these factors only compound the completely mind-numbing track with a lack of anything inspirational or innovative it sounds like a candle fading away.
“There was a moon out in space / But a cloud drifted over its face / You kissed me and went on your way / The night we called it a day / I heard the song of the spheres / Like a minor lament in my ears / I hadn’t the heart left to pray / The night we called it a day,” Dylan sings.
