Bob Dylan announces new box set including 1970 session with George Harrison

Bob Dylan has revealed plans to release a brand new box set of material recorded by the legendary singer-songwriter in 1970 to celebrate the songs turning 50.

The boxset is titled 1970 (50th Anniversary Collection) and is set to be released on February 26th, 2021 via Columbia/Legacy. The release is a three-disc set which features outtakes from Dylan’s sessions for his remarkable albums New Morning and Self Portrait. According to the press release, the session with Harrison will be released in full to “capture[s] the pair performing together on nine tracks”.

This forthcoming boxset is Dylan’s first release since he sold his entire back catalogue in an unprecedented deal to Universal, reported to amounts to a total of at least $300million — according to The New York Times.
