Bleachers and St Vincent join forces for Electric Lady rooftop performance

Jack Antanoff’s main project, Bleachers, have released a new video performance featuring St Vincent. The video features live versions of ‘What’d I Do With All This Faith?’ and ‘Big Life’ from Bleachers’ latest album Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night. In it, St Vincent joins Jack Antanoff and the rest of the band, acting as the band’s backup singer.

Filmed on the rooftop of Electric Lady Studios In New York, the group performed some of the recent album’s biggest tracks, alongside St Vincent. The performance videos are part of a new series of live performances called Bleachers On The Roof. Back in December the group also performed with Bruce Springsteen.

St Vincent did not feature on Bleachers recent album. However, she did provide backing vocals on ‘Stop Making This Hurt’ and last week the singer released a clip of her performance of ‘Loss Ageless’ (produced by Antanoff) from her Down and Out Downtown virtual concert.

Meanwhile, Antanoff has revealed that Bleachers will be enforcing a vaccine policy for their upcoming tour dates to ensure their shows are as safe as possible. The tour begins in September and venues will require visitors to provide proof of a vaccine or of a negative test. In a tweet, Antanoff wrote: “We’re not messing around. Every show will be as safe as possible without any weirdo bullshit.”

St Vincent is also set to tour in the UK and Europe in June 2022. In an interview, she said: “We’ve been cooped up for nearly two years and we need an exorcism. I need to truly leave it all on the stage. Emotionally, we’re not even sure how much we have inside of us. It’s been a while!”.

In the meantime, however, St Vincent has taken to the virtual stage for the world’s first-ever virtual music concert. It came after the release of her new album Down And Out Downtown.
