Björk unveils trailer for new concert film ‘Cornucopia’
Björk has shared the trailer for her highly anticipated concert film, Cornucopia, ahead of its arrival in cinemas.
On May 7th, Cornucopia will arrive in theatres worldwide for a limited time, allowing those who missed out on seeing her last world tour to experience it in all of its glory. Presented in 4K and Dolby Atmos, it promises to be her “most elaborate live performance to date, blending cutting-edge visuals and immersive sound”.
Cornucopia, which has a run time of 1 hour and 53 minutes, will be available exclusively in over 500 cinemas across 30 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
While May 7th is the roll-out date in most territories, it won’t arrive until May 8th in Spain, May 9th in Canada, and May 11th in France.
Her first show on this tour began in New York in 2019. Due to the global pandemic, pauses in her tour were forced while live music ground to a halt, but by the end of her run of shows, Björk had brought her live performance to 45 different places on four different continents over the course of four years.
During the set of shows, Björk’s team projected visuals onto a number of rotating curtains. These created a digitally animated experience, which will be drawn upon once again during the live screenings of her concert film. Also, during her gigs, she used instruments such as a magnetic harp and an aluphone. When discussing the tour, Björk admitted that it was “the most ambitious project I’ve travelled with”.
