Billie Eilish joins Alanis Morissette & Sinead O’Connor with multiple Alternative Songs No. 1s
Indie darling Billie Eilish is hitting the history books after ‘Bad Guys’ hits No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs airplay chart (August 10). This accomplishment makes her the third female solo artist to have made more than one leader list in the 31 years that it has been in existence.
‘Bury a Friend’ was number 1 in the Billboard charts for over two weeks back in May. The accomplishment puts her in the company of artists such as Alanis Morissette and Sinead O’Connor. Still just only 17 years of age, this is a massive achievement for the young artist, but well deserved.
Still at the very infancy of her career, Eilish is showing maturity ahead of her years. She recently opened up about her experiences with self-harm and dpression in an open and honest interview with Rolling Stones.
“It’s funny. When anyone else thinks about Billie Eilish at 14, they think of all the good things that happened. But all I can think of is how miserable I was. How completely distraught and confused. Thirteen to 16 was pretty rough.”
With many artists already rushing to cover the now established artist we predict bigger things to come for this breath of fresh air.
