Billie Eilish has mastered her third album

Billie Eilish has revealed her highly-anticipated third album album is finally finished and new music is firmly on the horizon.

Eilish announced the news on social media, simply posting: “My album is mastered.” The untitled album will act as the follow-up to her 2021 sophomore release, Happier Than Ever, which was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at the Grammys in 2022.

Since her last LP, the singer has released a handful of tracks, including the award-sweeping soundtrack song, ‘What Was I Made For?’ from Barbie, as well as the moving acoustic EP, Guitar Songs.

In September last year, Eilish provided an update on the upcoming record, stating, “There is lots of music coming. There is a whole album of music coming, and we’re in the final stages of making it.”

Furthermore, she updated fans in December when she revealed that the record was “almost done”. Now, in February, we’re in the last steps of the process.

Mastering is the last step in production, which checks everything over, finesses the sound, and prepares it for distribution. With that stage now complete, new music should be expected from Eilish in the near future.

The singer has remained tight-lipped on what her third record will sound like, but Eilish did previously suggest that her process has changed.

“Everything is different about it,” she told Dua Lipa on her At Your Service podcast. “The way that I exist in the room is different, my voice has completely changed since then…The voice-changing thing is a trip! It’s all kind of shocking.”
