Biig Tiime announce debut album ‘200K’ and share new single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’
Biig Tiime, the side-project of DMA’s guitarist Johnny Took and his brother Matty Took, have shared their new single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’ and announced details of their debut album 200K.
While Biig Tiime initially launched with their debut single, ‘It’s You’ in 2020, this new track marks only their second single as the Took brothers revive the group back from the dead. They have also announced details of their debut UK tour, which is set to commence in May to coincide with their new album.
Due to the Took brothers’ other commitments, with Johnny in DMAs and Matty in Planet, Biig Tiime has taken a backseat in recent years, but ‘Bigger Than Nothing’ marks an emphatic way to restart their journey.
“‘Bigger Than Nothing’ is our first release since our first and only single ‘It’s You’ back in 2020! It’s quintessential Biig Tiime,” the Australian band says in a statement.
They continued: “Harmonies the whole way through and distorted guitars. Lyrically it’s full of tongue in cheek self-deprecation and floating in and out of the feeling of not being good enough for people and situations around you.”
Biig Tiime describe 200K as “a collection of gems that we have written over the years. We couldn’t be prouder to share this first taste.” The album is set for release on May 2nd, 2025.
Their tour begins in Leeds at Belgrave Music Hall on May 14th, Biig Tiime will also visit Birmingham, Keele, Bristol, Glasgow, Stockton, Portsmouth, London and Manchester.
DMA’s most recent album was 2023’s How Many Dreams, which landed in the top three of the UK Album Chart. Speaking with Far Out about the album, the band’s Matt Mason said: “It’s definitely the most confident we’ve been in a record, that’s for sure. It’s funny you say that. We’re really proud of it.”
