Belle and Sebastian announce 2022 European tour

Glasgow’s premier indie-pop act Belle and Sebastian have announced new UK and European tour for 2022.

One of the last original indie rock survivors, the band are picking up right where they left off on their 2019 world tour, which was chronicled in the double live album What to Look for in Summer, released in December 2020.

Prolific, beloved, and in perpetual motion, Belle and Sebastian have been solidified around the core of vocalist Stuart Murdoch, guitarist Stevie Jackson, keyboardist Chris Geddes, and drummer Richard Colburn since their inception in 1996. Multi-instrumentalist Sarah Martin is a core member as well, having joined the group in the short interim between the recording sessions for their first two albums.

2021 is officially the band’s 25th anniversary, and I’m sure the band originally had the tour planned for this year to celebrate. Obviously, that wasn’t meant to be, but Belle and Sebastian are not a band known to stay off the road for an extended period of time. The resumption of their touring schedules is a welcome sign that live music as a whole is returning in full force.

General sale for the new dates starts on Friday, while a fan pre-sale for the UK dates starts on Wednesday, both at 10am BST. Tickets can be found here.
