Beck’s new video for ‘Fix Me’ has a bunch of cute pups in it
Beck is revered around the globe for his insatiable appetite for dynamism and ethereal ability to enact change on his persona and artistic output. But… he still can’t beat a good thing when it comes along, and today that good thing is puppies.
The new track taken from his October-released album Colors is ‘Fix Me’ and it has possibly one of the sweetest videos of the year. The new video features Instagram-famous (you can be happy with the fact we didn’t say insta-famous… oops) dogs called Riku, Gaku and Qoo and baby Mame.
Director Brook Linder said of the clip “There’s something really special happening in the mountains of Yamagata, and we were lucky enough to enter Mame’s world for two afternoons in November. That home is heaven on Earth. One of the dogs, Qoo, and I had a special connection —I think he’s my great-grandfather reincarnated… or something. He looked into my soul.”
Aside form the brilliant video, the song is a touching and veracious lullaby. Lighter than air it feels genuine and far more grounded than one would imagine Beck’s superstar status allows.
For now, just float away from your desk on a puff of puppy hair.
