BBC releases first teaser clip of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ Christmas special

The BBC has shared the first teaser clip of the forthcoming Gavin and Stacey Christmas special.

The show, which written by James Corden and Ruth Jones, which follows the romance between Gavin, from Billericay in Essex, and Stacey, from Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, and tells the tale of two differing mergings over their love.

The sitcom ran for three series and included 20 episodes and one Christmas special. The show became a hit for the BBC, winning several television and comedy awards as Corden made his major breakthrough as a comedy writer.

Corden and Jones have recently released a statement confirming its one-off return: “Over the last ten years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like,” they said. “And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special. We’ve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.

“We’re so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen.”

With the anticipation building, the BBC has offered the first look at the special. See the clip, below.
