Bam Margera claims ‘Jackass’ firing cost him $5 million

Bam Margera has revealed that his firing from Jackass Forever cost him $5 million.

During filming of the 2022 movie, which grossed more than $80 million at the box office, Margera was cut from the film reportedly due to substance abuse issues.

Last week, it was confirmed that Jackass would be returning for another movie. However, while Margera is set to feature in the film, it will only be through archival footage, and he won’t film any new stunts for the project.

Now, in a new interview with TMZ, Margera said of his dismissal, “If you had a laundry list of the chain of horrible events of the two years of Covid that they put me through, spending my own money at an alarming rate for therapists, doctors and treatment and all this, only to sit me down and tell me you’re not in the movie and you’re not getting $5 million.”

He added of the impact of being fired from the franchise, “I watch Dateline, and people kill other people for a whole lot less, so I have a lot of PTSD from it all. So just having the title now of ‘ex-Jackass star Bam Margera’… I have to live with that. The humiliation, abandonment, and just embarrassment of it all. I had to let it go.”

Margera then stated that his focus is currently on his skateboarding, as well as being a husband to his wife, Dannii Marie, and a father to his eight-year-old son.

He also confirmed that old archival footage will be used in the forthcoming Jackass film with his blessing, but Margera will not be filming anything new, stating, “As far as I know, I don’t have to film anything new, and I don’t want to.”

Explaining why he has no interest in filming fresh stunts, Margera detailed his stance, “I’m just too hurt by it and I already accepted the fact that I don’t want anything to do with it anymore. Only time will tell, but at this time, I don’t want to do anything.”

The upcoming Jackass film, which is yet to receive an official title, is set to be released in cinemas on June 26th, 2026.
