Baftas 2026: The full winners list revealed

The official winners of the 2026 Baftas have been announced during a star-studded ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The stars descended on the capital for the latest incarnation of an event that began back in 1949. Each year, it looks to “support, develop and promote the art forms of the moving image, by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners, and benefiting the public”.

This time around, that meant the spotlight shone on the likes of One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value, Marty Supreme, and Hamnet, to name but a few of the pre-event favourites. Some would exceed expectations while others would fall by the wayside.

Stars such as Timothée Chalamet was among the most hopeful faces. The Marty Supreme lead had previously indicated his confidence ahead of awards season when he explained, “This is probably my best performance.” However, the movie failed to pick up a single award despite many nominations.

During a press junket, he boldly continued, ”It’s been like seven, eight years that I feel like I’ve been handing in really, really committed, top-of-the-line performances.” Adding, “It’s important to say it out loud because the discipline and the work ethic I’m bringing to these things, I don’t want people to take for granted.“

Another favourite, Jessie Buckley, took a far different approach, explaining that she felt overwhelmed about starring in Hamnet. ”I was not confident at all. I felt terrified,” she told the BBC. ”I felt totally overwhelmed leading up to it and even during it.” Buckley left the Baftas as the first Irish actor to win ‘Best Actor’ at the Baftas.

Meanwhile, it included a roster of presenters, including the likes of Cillian Murphy, Aimee Lou Wood, Stormzy, Monica Belucci, Gillian Anderson, Warwick Davis, to Bryan Cranston, meaning there was no shortage of stars.

And among the fresher faces on display, Robert Aramayo from Hull took home the ‘Rising Star’ award for his breakthrough performance in I Swear. He then added another win to his belt beating out hot favourite Timothée Chalamet for ‘Best Actor’.

Buckley’s victory as ‘Best Actor’ rounded up a good night for Hamnet, as it picked up the award for ‘Outstanding British Film.

The night’s greatest award, ‘Best Film’ was picked up by the night’s biggest winner, One Battle After Another, which ended the night with six awards, including ‘Best Editing’, ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’, Sean Penn grabbing ‘Best Supporting Actor’ and Paul Thomas Anderson picking up ‘Best Director’ before winning ‘Best Film’.
