The Baftas have unveiled the longlist of films that are under consideration for nomination.

The 2026 ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 22nd at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with Alan Cumming set to host for the first time.

Now, they have unveiled the ten picks in each category, which are set to advance to round two in the nomination process. Voting opens for judges at 4pm on January 9th and will close on January 20th at 6pm.

The nominations will be revealed on January 27th during an event that is set to be live-streamed on their YouTube channel.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another leads the pack in the longlist, picking up mentions in 16 out of a possible 25 categories, including ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Director’, and ‘Adapted Screenplay’. Additionally, One Battle After Another actors Chase Infiniti, Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn have all advanced to the next round of voting in their respective categories.

Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners both look to have a strong chance at the Baftas, picking up 14 mentions each in the longlist. Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet, is trailing slightly behind with 13.

Meanwhile, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein each featured in 12 longlist categories. Jon M Chu’s Wicked: For Good and Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value both landed mentions in eight categories.
