Avenged Sevenfold kick off North American tour: Here’s their setlist in full
Avenged Sevenfold have returned after half a year off with a riotous opening night, kicking off their co-headlining tour with pop-punk titans Good Charlotte.
The California metal band surprised fans with the release of an electronic-leaning EP only a day before the opening night of the new tour, following up 2023’s Life Is But A Dream…
The project, titled Statica, arrived with no warning and featured the songs ‘Lights’, ‘Statica’, ‘Rejoice’ and ‘Ashes’.
However, it was their song ‘Magic’ that received its live debut during their 12-song set at Thunder Ridge Natura Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri.
The band kicked off the highly-anticipated set with ‘Nightmare’, marking the first time since 2016 they used the track as an opener.
From there, they soared through the live debut of the 2025 track ‘Magic’, followed up by ‘Afterlife’, ‘Shepherd of Fire’, ‘Buried Alive’, and ‘Seize the Day’.
Several songs later, the band closed out the night with fan favourites ‘Unholy Confessions’ and ‘Cosmic’.
Their next show will take place at Mystic Lake Amphitheater on July 27th, before the band will race onwards to appear in the likes of Toronto, Charlotte, Tampa, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Dallas, before a final show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
Last year, the group were forced to postpone their Latin America tour after frontman M Shadows suffered a vocal fold haematoma; as a result, the dates were rescheduled for January and February this year.
Later this year, they will go on to play their first Australia and New Zealand shows in 12 years, with a run of four dates in October, stopping in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.
