Australian right-wing activist claims Billie Eilish “got me deported” from the US
Australian right-wing activist Drew Pavlou has claimed that Billie Eilish caused him to be “deported” from the United States.
Pavlou launched a campaign against Eilish in the wake of her acceptance speech at the Grammys earlier this month, when she declared that “no one is illegal on stolen land“.
As a result of her comments, Pavlou launched a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising $3 million in order to purchase Eilish’s home in California.
However, Pavlou then claimed on February 15th that he was apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security upon attempting to enter the US, which he alleged was due to Eilish.
Pavlou wrote, “Billie Eilish got me deported from the US – I think her legal team contacted DHS. I spent 30 hours at LAX immigration trying to explain that my shit posts were just a joke and that I didn’t actually plan to personally move into her mansion.”
He continued, “Honestly most of the agents were nice and laughed at the idea but there was nothing I could do, maybe evil leftists are still in charge of sections of the bureaucracy. I guess some people are in fact actually illegal on stolen land. And I guess I am just a BAD GUY….”
In a video, Pavlou proudly boasted of the alleged episode, stating, “It’s amazing performance art. I suffered for my art. 30 hours in a cell just to like prove a point just as a meme. Who else takes jokes this far?”
He also said that his mission of the so-called piece of “performance art” was “to prove Billie Eilish is a hypocrite”.
The Australian described the incident as a “total victory”, claiming that he “managed to get left-wingers and Billie Eilish to support ICE”.
Pavlou unsuccessfully ran for the Australian Senate in 2022 with his party, the Drew Pavlou Democratic Alliance, which secured just 0.02 per cent of the national vote. The political party has since been voluntarily deregistered.
After Eilish’s comments at the Grammys, her brother, Finneas, came to her defence amid social media criticism from high-profile figures such as Kristi Noem, who called her “ill-informed,” and Elon Musk, who labelled her “such a hypocrite” on X.
Finneas wrote in response, “Seeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24 year old sister said during her acceptance speech. We can literally see your names in the Epstein files.”
