Ariel Pink dropped by record label after attending pro-Donald Trump rally
Record label Mexican Summer has taken the decision to end their working relationship with Ariel Pink following the news that the musician attended the pro-Donald Trump rally in Washington. “Due to recent events, Mexican Summer and its staff have decided to end our working relationship with Ariel Rosenberg AKA Ariel Pink moving forward,” the label said in a short statement issued to social media.
As the world watched on with open mouths, supporters of Trump rounded together to form a mob big enough to storm past authorities and into the United States Capitol in Washington in a bid to stop the official presidential handover.
After being incited by Trump, lawmakers inside the building were forced to flee as the unruly mob clashed with police officers as windows were smashed, tear gas deployed and shots fired. The riots resulted in leaving four dead, including what has proved to be one fatal shooting which took place inside the building itself.
In what was a brutally toxic day overall, tensions stepped up to unprecedented levels as Trump himself continued to call the election fraudulent while Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s lawyer, spoke publicly and demanded called a “trial by combat” as the cheers of supporters backed the claim. As the situation spiralled out of control, Trumped called for calm and urged protestors to head home.
Soon after, however, Trump again amped up his followers by once more falsely claiming that the election had been “stolen”. He said: “I know your pain, I know your hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. But you have to go home now. We have to have peace. Go home. We love you. You are very special.”
As the dust has settled on the incident, more details emerged and it transpired that popular musicians Ariel Pink and John Maus were among the crowds pushing toward the Capitol. “I was in DC to peacefully show my support for the president,” Pink said. “I attended the rally on the white house lawn and went back to hotel and took a nap. Case closed.”
Now, however, his outspoken opinions in support of Trump has resulted in the end of his working relationship with Mexican Summer.
