Ariana Grande puts Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller to the test in ‘Focker-in-Law’ trailer
Ariana Grande is putting her acting chops to the test against Hollywood legends Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the first trailer for Focker-in-Law.
The movie comes as the fourth instalment in the Fockers series of films, some 16 years on from its last outing with Little Fockers in 2010, which was considered a critical flop compared to the first two movies.
However, with fresh direction from John Hamburg, the franchise is being brought back to life with De Niro and Stiller reprising their roles as the father and son-in-law of the famous dysfunctional family.
The addition of Grande into the cast, playing Olivia Jones, the girlfriend of Greg’s (Stiller) son Henry, brings new challenges into the fold after it is revealed that she is a former FBI hostage negotiator, meeting the match of De Niro’s Jack, a retired CIA agent.
The trailer sees Grande’s character going toe-to-toe with the patriarchs of the family, giving them a taste of their own medicine and at one point, saving Greg from choking by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre, with the food subsequently being caught in Jack’s mouth.
Aside from the starry leads of Focker-in-Law, the rest of the cast is rounded out by Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Skyler Gisondo, Beanie Feldstein, and Eduardo Franco.
It comes as the first time Grande has returned to the big screen since the two-part global phenomenon that was Wicked. Playing the role of Glinda the Good, the pop star’s performance was particularly praised in Wicked: Part One, released in 2024, for which she was nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the Oscars.
For the part of her legendary co-star De Niro, however, the comedy film will prove to be some light relief from his other planned release for this year, the crime thriller The Whisper Man, which is expected to arrive on Netflix later in 2026.
Focker-in-Law is set for release in cinemas on November 26th, 2026.
