Ariana Grande pulls out ‘American Horror Story’ for Eternal Sunshine tour

Ariana Grande has been forced to stave off her scream queen career after pulling out of American Horror Story season 13 due to scheduling conflicts with her current Eternal Sunshine tour.

As previously announced on Halloween last year, Grande was set to join a host of famous American Horror Story faces for the latest season, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange.

This week, the original cast from season three has reportedly been congregating in New York to reprise their Coven characters. The new series promises “an unrivaled 13th installment that will do justice to everyone’s most feared number.”

However, though Grande was originally set to join in on the scream-tastic fun, she’s no longer able to commit to the series due to her concert tour, which kicked off on June 6th at Oakland Arena in California.

Until now, Grande has largely focused her efforts on the acting side of things, playing Glinda in the film adaptation of Wicked alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba.

The ‘Thank You, Next’ is set to appear in Focker-In-Law, the fourth instalment in the comedy franchise, Meet the Parents, alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.

She will also lend her vocal skills to Jon M Chu’s animated adaptation of Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.

Recently, the global pop star hit the headlines after condemning the White House for using her song ‘Bye’ in a TikTok video promoting ICE. She slammed the musical decision, writing online, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. Fck ice.”

Grande is currently in the lead-up to her eighth studio album, Petal, which will be released on July 31st through Babydoll Music and Republic Records; the lead single, ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’, reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart.
