Arcade Fire have announced details of their European tour which includes three new UK and Ireland shows.
The band will hit the road in early June by kicking off their journey at the previously announced Primavera Festival show in Barcelona before drawing to a close in Florence, Italy on July 18.
In the middle of it all you can catch the mercurial band playing Isle of Wight Festival, Belsonic Festival in Belfast, Malahide Castle in Dublin and Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl.
Arcade Fire’s last tour was in 2014 behind Reflektor and follows the news of the band’s recent release of single ‘I Give You Power’.
“The song was made to come out now. That’s one of the beautiful things about the times we’re in — you can just put something out,” Winn Butlet told Zane Lowe when asked about the recent release.
“It’s the eve of the inauguration and I think it’s easy to get sucked into sitting on the couch and checking your news feed and watching things on CNN, and we’re just musicians and the only thing we really have to offer is our music,” he added.
“I talked to Mavis last night and she said, ‘Now more than ever we have to come together and hold onto each other.’ For us it’s a feeling of solidarity—to not feel powerless and focus on what we can do as individuals and try to do our part.”
Tickets go on sale at 9am on (Friday) February 17 and you can find the full tour dates here.
