Apple TV+ unveils trailer for Martin Scorsese documentary, ‘Mr Scorsese’
Apple TV+ has shared the first trailer for the upcoming five-part documentary series Mr Scorsese, which will explore the life and work of legendary director Martin Scorsese.
The new clip focuses on Scorsese’s long and arduous battle to bring Taxi Driver to the screen in 1976, which put him on the map as a generational director.
He says in the clip: “They’re going to destroy the film anyway, you know. So let me destroy it. I’ll destroy it. But before destroying it, I’m going to steal it.”
Rebecca Miller, who directed the series, previously said of the documentary upon its announcement: “I am so grateful to have been given the artistic freedom and access to create a cinematic portrait of one of our greatest living artists, Martin Scorsese.”
The director continued: “His work and life are so vast and so compelling that the piece evolved from one to five parts over a five-year period; crafting this documentary alongside my longtime collaborators has been one of the defining experiences of my life as a filmmaker.”
Contributors to the five-part documentary include Robert De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks and Rodrigo Priet.
Additionally, it boasts interviews with his children, wife Helen Morris and close childhood friends, who know a different side to Scorsese.
Mr Scorsese is set for release on Apple TV+ on October 17th, 2025.
