Raucous new Australian band Animal House announce their first UK tour to support their debut single ‘Sour’, released October 20th 2014. It’s heavy Garage sound means it has to be our Track of the Day.
Displaying signs of King of Leon, you know, before they sold their soul, Animal House mix scratchy vocals and fast pop-filled guitar hooks across a heavy set of drums and a clear DIY ethos. They manage to combine their punk stylings with a polished sound to great effect dabbling with The Growlers laconic and ambivalent sound and the precision of The White Stripes. ‘Sour’ may yet just prove to be the anthem it should be.
On top of this new release they also have a UK tour in the offing and if their live set has any of the intensity and prowess displayed in ‘Sour’ it’s sure to be a sweet show.
The ten city tour begins October 22nd with a launch show in Brighton, before moving up and down the country culminating in a show in London.
