Portland rapper Aminé has announced his new album, Limbo, and has also shared the brand new track ‘Compensating’ which features Young Thug.
Limbo is set to arrive on August 7th and will be Aminé’s third record, one which follows on from his 2018 sophomore album OnePointFive.
Upon sharing the single, Aminé spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about how the collaboration came together: “I was in Toronto working with T-Minus on this song and I put the hook together and then Minus told me he had a session with Thug and he thought that we would mesh well together on this song,” he explained.
“The only time I’ve ever met Thug before that was I was in Europe and he walked up to me at some festival, I think where it was way out west or some, and he walked up to me and called me a young legend and I never forgot that moment. I never forgot that moment.”
The rapper also recently made a glorious appearance on Disclosure’s latest single ‘My High‘ which also featured slowthai.
Speaking about the collaboration, Disclosure said: “We always wanted to work with rappers, we just didn’t know any and we had no means of contacting them… there’s not a lot of rappers in Reigate. Writing ‘My High’ with Aminé was a lot a fun, he’s hilarious and may as well be a comedian.
