Taylor Swift emerged victorious from the American Music Awards of 2019 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles last night.
Having been crowned Artist of the Year, Swift also claimed Favourite Video for her song ‘You Need To Calm Down’, Favourite Female Artists, Favourite Album, Favourite Artist – Adult Contemporary and, most impressively, the pop star was named ‘Artist of the Decade’ at the high profile event.
Swift’s six trophies at the 2019 event mean she breaks the record for most AMA wins of all time with 29. “This year for me has been a lot,” Swift said as part of her speech. “It’s been a lot of good, it’s been a lot of really complicated. All that matters to me is the memories I have had with you guys, with you the fans, over the years.”
The event, hosted by Ciara, welcomed lived performances from the likes of Swift, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Lizzo, Christina Aguilera & A Great Big World, Post Malone & Ozzy Osbourne, Halsey, Greenday and more.
