Alice Cooper defends Johnny Depp ahead of new tour

Alice Cooper has come out in defence of his bandmate Johnny Depp as he prepares to tour with the actor turned musician.

Cooper and Depp are hitting the road with their rock ‘supergroup’ Hollywood Vampires, a band that was formed in a bid to honour the music of the rock stars who died from excess in the 1970s.

Ahead of their tour, Cooper has been called into conversation about his bandmate Depp who, in recent years, has been accused of domestic abuse by his ex-wife Amanda Heard.

“All the stuff you heard last year about Johnny, 99 percent was just bull,” Cooper told Billboard. In reference to Depp’s health and state of mind, Cooper added: “I’ve never seen him look better in my life. I’ve never seen him happier. I’ve never heard him play better, and the way the press would have it is he’s a total destruction and ready to die. Totally not true.”

The band have a string of tour dates booked in for May, kickstarting their shows in Vegas before heading on to LA, San Francisco, Denver and more. See the full dates below.
