Alec Baldwin announces surprising new television show amid ‘Rust’ saga
Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria have announced a new television show amid the ongoing Rust shooting saga, the incident which caused the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the western movie in 2022.
Now, Baldwin has announced that he will be featuring in a new TLC reality show that follows him and his family on their adventures. Baldwin, best known for his previous performances in Glengarry Glen Ross and Beetlejuice, shared the news on his Instagram page.
In the video featuring his seven children, Baldwin said, “We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs; the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy. Home is the place we love to be most.”
The show, currently being developed under the working title The Baldwins, will be released on TLC, which is known for its reality TV shows, including 90 Day Fiancé and MILF Manor.
The broadcasting company shared in a statement about the new show, “Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have been making headlines since they were married nearly 12 years ago. In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids.”
The message from TLC continued, “For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the nonstop love, laughter and drama.”
Naturally, most of the recent news surrounding Baldwin has concerned the manslaughter case of Rust. The latest development in the case is that the lawyers who are representing Baldwin have requested that the court dismiss the actor’s trial on the grounds that it is unfair.
However, as it stands, Baldwin is set to go on trial in July for pulling the trigger of the gun that shot and killed Halyna Hutchins. The film’s armourer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was recently handed an 18-month sentence for unknowingly loading the gun with live bullets.
The claims from Baldwin and his lawyers state that the actor did not pull the trigger of the gun, which has also itself been inadvertently broken by the FBI, leading to the belief that it is no longer a valid piece of evidence against him.
As of now, the trial is set to go ahead in July, with Baldwin facing up to 18 months in prison if he is convicted. Production on Rust resumed in 2023 and now Baldwin has another project on the horizon, the strangely timed reality TV show about him and his family life.
