Alabama Shakes announce 2025 reunion tour
Eight years since their last live show, Alabama Shakes have announced a 2025 reunion tour. Kicking off on July 16th, the band will travel to most corners of the US to play 30 shows in total.
The tour will see the band play in places like Las Vegas, New Orleans and Toronto, as well as appearing at festivals such as Minnesota Yacht Club Festival.
Accompanying them on the tour is a wide range of acts, including Shannon & The Clams, Sam Evian, Alanna Royale and Greyhounds, among others.
To the surprise of fans around the world, the band reunited for the first time since 2017 at a benefit concert in Tuscaloosa. Notably, their former drummer Steve Johnson was not included in this reunion after pleading guilty to domestic violence and stalking in 2020. He was replaced by Ben Tanner, who is set to join on the 2025 tour.
Their last album, Sound & Color, was released in 2015. In photos posted online in which the group teased new music, it was suggested that their new offering will be created alongside working with Shawn Everett, who won a Grammy in 2016 for his work on their previous album.
Alabama Shakes can expect a host of new fans introduced to their music through singer Brittany Howard’s 2024 solo album What Now, a “soul-infused dance hit”.
An artist pre-sale launches on February 11th, followed by a Live Nation pre-sale for select dates beginning on February 12th. The general on-sale is slated for Friday, February 14th via Ticketmaster.
