AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young hospitalised ahead of Buenos Aires shows

AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young has been hospitalised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The legendary rock band are currently in the Argentinian capital as part of their Latin American tour, which will see them perform three-sold out shows at the Estadio River Plate later this month.

The first of these shows is set to take place on March 23rd, and despite his hospitalisation, it is expected that Young, who is the nephew of AC/DC founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, will participate in the concerts.

According to the concert promoter, Young was taken to the hospital because he “was not feeling well.” The statement added, “As a precaution, he was admitted to a local hospital, where he is undergoing a full series of tests.”

The specifics of his health issues have not been disclosed.

In an update, a spokesperson said of Young’s condition, “Out of an abundance of caution, he was admitted to a local hospital where he is undergoing a full battery of tests. Stevie is doing well and in good spirits. He is eagerly looking forward to getting on stage on Monday.”

Young, who is 69, has been a member of AC/DC since 2014, after Malcolm left the band due to health issues, three years before his death.

The rock legend’s three shows in Argentina will be followed by another trio of shows in Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City in April, before they take a three-month break from the road ahead of playing stadiums across North America this summer.

Their summer shows will see them perform in North Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, California, Alberta, Vancouver, Georgia, Indianapolis, Missouri, Ontario, Quebec and New Jersey, before concluding the tour in Pennsylvania.
