‘A Quiet Place III’ announced with John Krasinski returning to direct
Quiet, a new announcement is incoming. It’s official: John Krasinski will return to his beloved universe to direct, write and produce A Quiet Place Part III.
Before heralding the incredible horror movie, which explores life with no sound alongside aliens that attack at the first hint of noise, Krasinski had tried his hand at directing on multiple occasions. From episodes of The Office to misfires such as Brief Interviews with Hideous Men and The Hollars, Krasinski failed to break through as a director properly.
As of now, it has not been announced whether Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, who co-starred with Krasinski in the first film, will return. However, considering that Blunt, Krasinski’s wife, originally urged him to push ahead with the first movie, she is likely to rejoin the roster.
The series has seen tremendous success, grossing over $900 million worldwide. Michael Sarnoski also came in to direct the 2024 spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One.
Krasinski announced his involvement in the third Quiet Place film on Instagram via a cryptic poster that included the date and the Roman numerals ‘III’. Fans quickly guessed what he was referring to, and the buzz has already begun to grow.
A Quiet Place III will be released via Paramount Pictures on July 9th 2027. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions, which has a first-look deal with the studio, will produce along with Platinum Dunes.
Musing on the originality of the first film, Far Out previously commented that “The ingenious conceit of monsters that hunt by sound was inspired, and Emily Blunt’s formidable central performance was so good that she’s the only person since 2008 to have won a Screen Actors Guild Award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role’ that didn’t go on to win the Academy Award. In fact, she wasn’t even nominated.”
