An already massive line-up for a live stream commemorating the life of the late, great David Bowie has got even bigger with the additions of Yungblud, Duran Duran and Anna Calvi.
The online event, titled A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!, will be streamed to global audiences on January 8th, 2021 — which should have been The Thin White Duke’s 74th birthday. One of Bowie’s closest allies and long-standing band member, Mike Garson, is to host the event. The live stream is also in aid of a good cause, with all profits from the stream going towards Save The Children.
The news of the additional artists comes after the event previously announced names such as Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan and actor Gary Oldman were all set to take part.
The organisers behind Just For One Day! have also announced that Queen’s Adam Lambert, Andra Day, Dexter’s Michael C. Hall, Mott the Hoople’s Ian Hunter, Atticus Ross, Kind Heaven Orchestra vocalist Etty Lau Farrell and How to Destroy Angels’ Mariqueen Maandig Reznor are all taking part.
More Bowie contemporaries such as Peter Frampton, David Sanborn and Rick Wakeman have also agreed to feature in the live stream participate in the live stream. The show will be available for ticketholders to watch live on January 8th. However, it does begin at 2am UK time, but, thankfully, it is available to watch anytime for the next 24 hours after the event.
