Yungblud brings out Billy Idol at BludFest headline show
Performing in the headline slot at his festival BludFest, Yungblud surprised fans by bringing out rock legend Billy Idol to perform ‘White Wedding’.
Taking place in Milton Keynes on June 21st, Chase Atlantic, Denzel Curry, Blackbear, Rachel Chinouriri, Peach PRC and others joined Yungblud’s roster to form a packed lineup for the day festival in its second year.
Yungblud released his fourth studio album, Idols, only one day before his headline set. He admitted to fans at the festival he was “so fucking nervous” to share it. He added, “It’s been four years in the making, but to see the amount of love that you are giving it… I love you all so much.”
Yungblud has an “icon” portion of his set; last year, The Damned took to the stage with the rocker. This year, he welcomed Billy Idol to the stage for a rendition of his classic hit, ‘White Wedding’. After the song closed, the star told the crowd he would “remember this night forever”.
The 27-year-old previously said that he began his own festival due to the dire state of the current festival market. He agreed “100 per cent” that festivals have “got out of hand”. He stated: “This is just dumb. Just stupid. It does not represent real people. I cannot play a festival where it’s like £800 a ticket. How can you stand on stage, and that’s OK?”
Idol isn’t the only celebrity Yungblud has recently collaborated with. Yungblud released a music video to accompany his latest single, ‘Zombie’, starring recent Marvel hit-maker Florence Pugh. He closed the set with this single.
Idol hit the headlines recently as a new documentary on the star, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, revealed that the musician has a long-lost adult son. “I actually had a son that I didn’t realise,” Idol told the documentary, “Who I fathered on the Rebel Yell tour without knowing it.”
