Yes announce plans to play ‘Fragile’ in full on tour
Prog-rock pioneers Yes have unveiled plans to tour their classic album, Fragile, in full across the United States later this year.
The album was originally released in 1971, and more than 50 years after it initially arrived, Yes will be revisiting the LP for the 31-date tour across America, which will begin on October 1st at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford.
Notable venues on the tour include the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, the Paramount in Huntington and the Warner Theater in Washington.
According to a press release, Yes will also play a collection of “classic cuts” from their back catalogue in addition to Fragile.
Steve Howe is the only member of Yes who played on Fragile to remain an active member in 2025. Bill Bruford was the first to depart in 1992, with Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson leaving in 2004. Chris Squire remained part of their line-up until the bassist died in 2015.
Looking ahead to the tour, guitarist Howe said in a statement: “All the band’s albums had a unique feel and approach. After The Yes Album, so many things came together, with Eddie Offord steering the proceedings. While the band focused on only four main songs with full arrangements, each of us wrote and designed a solo piece, which was Bill (Bruford)’s great idea.”
Howe continued: “It’s fairly ‘odd-ball,’ but we were at the height of our creativity, determined for success. It gave us confidence, further than our own in-stock belief, we’d crafted this unusual but noticeable musical twist to rock and what later became prog.”
