Yellow Days, AKA George van den Broek, has announced that he has a brand new album A Day in a Yellow Beat on the way and shared its second song. We’ve made ‘Love Is Everywhere’ our Track of the Day.
Hopefully, it’s sunny where you are because this song deserves sunshine. But, judging by the pure funk roots that run through this number Yellow Days may well be able to turn the grey clouds into blue sky simply by dropping the needle.
Yellow Days has shared the latest new track from new album A Day in a Yellow Beat, the brilliant ‘Love Is Everywhere’ even comes with a nostalgic visual courtesy of Kevin Lombardo.
The album will arrive on August 7th via Sony/RCA and is set to follow van den Broek’s debut album from last year Is Everything Okay in Your World? with a set of serious contributors ready to take the LP to another level.
A Day in a Yellow Beat will see features and contributions from Nate Fox, John Carroll Kirby and the brilliant Mac DeMarco.
Yellow Days said in a statement: “I’m trying to brand my own version of ironic dance music full of depressing truths about feeling distant from your friends, or a sense that nothing is worth anything.”
“The dance beat being different from the lyrics is a metaphor for drug usage, the way you’re dealing. The track is funky as hell because you’re not handling yourself correctly… This is really my first record where I can let it fucking all out.”
‘Love Is Everywhere’ follows previously released ‘Treat You Right’ and you can listen to it below.
