Yak announce debut LP ‘Alas Salvation’

Thank you Yak for making our Tuesday slightly more palatable with the announcement of the release of their debut LP Alas Salvation.

Since the band’s triumphant breakthrough year last year which saw the combination of their infectious sound and their chaotic live performances garner them an incredible reputation the band are now releasing the debut LP for our ears.

They’re even giving us a taste of it with ‘Victorious (National Anthem)’ and the accompanying video.

The LP will be out on May 13th via Octopus Electrical via Kobalt Label Services and promises to be a mind-melting crucible of different sounds. Something the band have become synonymous with, but as Oli explains there is still craftsmanship in every song the band record:

“I was trying to make it a slightly schizophrenic record that had all these different elements, but had so much of everything that by the end it would all just be lost and everybody would be like, ‘What the hell was that? I don’t know what that was, but I kind of enjoyed it,” he said.

Add to that some tour dates below and we have ourselves a very Yak-y day indeed.
