Woody Allen speaks out about his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn

Woody Allen has spoken about his controversial marriage to Soon-Yi Previn.

Soon-Yi is the adopted daughter of actress Mia Farrow and musician André Previn. In 1979, after ending her marriage with Soon-Yi’s adopted father Previn, Mia Farrow began a relationship with Allen. However, their relationship ended in 1992, when Allen began having an intimate relationship with Soon-Yi, her adopted daughter who was 22 years old at the time.

Allen later admitted that he had held a ‘paternal’ role of Soon-Yi for a decade.

Now, having been married for a number of years, Allen spoke out about his critics. He said: “I am a pariah,” in an interview which saw Soon-Yi defend her husband against sexual assault claims.

“People think that I was Soon-Yi’s father, that I raped and married my underaged, retarded daughter,” he added.
