Their comeback single was either going to be anthemic or vicious. Wolf Alice chose to bear their teeth and went full vicious. Their comeback track ‘Yuk Foo’ now has an incredible new video to go alongside the release.
The video is full of dark imagery and grimy themes, shot in Shoreditch Town Hall by Adam Powell it takes a lot of exciting turns. ‘Yuk Foo’ was followed by ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’ and showed the band’s versatility. It shows that the new album Visions Of A Life is going to be a wonderfully mixed bag.
Talking to Dazed about the new video, Ellie Rowsell says of the video: “…because the song’s so fast, heavy and brash, it doesn’t really seem to lend itself to a narrative video. One of the reasons we took ‘Yuk Foo’ to the studio – besides liking it as a song in and of itself – was because we were so excited to play it live. It’s got so much energy, and so we wanted to make a live video to match; short, and manically fast-paced.”
