Win Butler shares teaser of new Arcade Fire music with a message of “unity and hope”

Arcade Fire leader Win Butler has shared a mysterious teaser of new music amid a message of “unity and hope”.

The band, whose last release came in the shape of the immensely popular 2017 effort Everything Now, were working on new material before the current health crisis put a stop to their creation as Will, the brother of Win, explained: “Arcade Fire was recording. Well, we were recording… But now our drummer is in Australia, two of us are in Canada, and the rest are in America,” he said in an interview with NME.

While the band have been trying to put together new music, it seems unlikely that a full record will be released any time soon. However, Win Butler has offered a teaser in the shape of a new 45-second clip suggesting that the band are closer than first though.

Taking to his Instagram story to preview his mixing board, the singer captioned the footage by stating: “These are the strangest times… and everyone is going through stress and pain for a huge variety of reasons.

He added. “I just want to send a message of unity and hope that all the forces trying to keep us apart won’t be successful.

“Until the world is made whole. One body one soul. [Heart emoji] Win,” he concluded.

The music has been captured by fans and made available to listen, below.
