Wild Beasts’ frontman Hayden Thorpe goes solo and shares new song ‘Love Crimes’
With the announcement of Wild Beasts disbanding still drying in our hankies, we were thrilled when we learned that lead singer of the band Hayden Thorpe has announced his solo plans as well as releasing a new track ‘Love Crimes’.
Those plans being the announcement of his upcoming debut LP as a solo artist Diviner which will arrive via Domino Records on May 24th. Earlier in the year Thorpe described the new album to Pitchfork, saying it was about “a break-up from a past self, it’s a breakup from the old idea of yourself and therefore every relationship, of all kinds, that you’ve ever had.”
The song takes the most poignant piece of the band, Hayden’s vocals, and transfers it from indie stalwart to a darker more atmospheric sound, allowing his range to organically move across the thematic light and shade of the song.
