White House unveils “Media Offender of the Week” website

While Ballroom renovations are underway, the White House has unveiled its latest creation: the “Media Offender of the Week” list. The first culprits have been named: David Ellison-owned, Bari Weiss-run CBS News, as well as The Independent and The Boston Globe.

The list was revealed on November 28th, and begins with the tagline, “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.” It promises to keep a “record of the media’s false and misleading stories flagged by The White House.”

The reason for specifically targeting the outlets? “The media misrepresented President Trump’s call for Members of Congress to be held accountable for inciting sedition by saying that he called for their ‘execution,’” the site reads.

It continues on: “The Democrats and Fake News Media subversively implied that President Trump had issued illegal orders to service members. Every order President Trump has issued has been lawful.”

The statement then reads: “It is dangerous for sitting Members of Congress to incite insubordination in the United States’ military, and President Trump called for them to be held accountable.”

On the site, Alyssa Vega from The Boston Globe, Andrew Feinberg from The Independent, Eric Garcia from The Independent, and Nancy Cordes from CBS News were all called out directly by name.

It lists a host of key points for the call-out, as well as links to specific sources, such as this CBS News Post.

It also offers a “Hall of Shame” which goes back several months, as well as a leaderboard tallying the most disgraced outlets. CBS News, WaPo, CNN, and MSNBC are all on the leaderboard, as well as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

It is surprising that the Trump administration has called out CBS News, as the President is close to the Ellison family; Larry Ellison is a hugely vocal Trump supporter. His son, David, is the CEO of Paramount Skydance; Trump has recently pushed for a new Rush Hour 4 movie.
