White House responds after The Chicks’ Natalie Maines brands Donald Trump a “fugly slut”
The Chicks’ Natalie Maines has condemned President Donald Trump’s latest move, calling him a “fugly slut” on social media.
Maines took to Instagram to vent her frustration with the administration in response to the creation of the new Anti-Weaponisation Fund, which the US Justice Department recently announced it would be using $1.8 billion of taxpayers’ money to fund.
The new fund was created shortly after Trump dropped his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over the leaking of his tax returns.
The $1.8 billion fund will be used for allies of Trump who claim they have been unfairly investigated by authorities, including those who stormed the Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
Now, Maines has had her say, taking to Instagram to share an image of Trump, as well as three photos that appear to be from the 2021 riot.
The Chicks vocalist captioned the post: “Our democracy is disappearing right before our eyes. This fugly slut is using your gas money to pay for the insurrectionists.”
She then told her followers, “But don’t worry about it. I’m sure posting selfies will fix everything. My last post that called him a fugly slut got removed. We’ll see how long this one lasts.”
The singer then called upon her followers to “repost and help the message lives”, before concluding her post by writing, “Named 1M times in the #epsteinfiles #democracy #freespeech #fuglyslut.”
In response to Maines’ comments on the administration, Davis Ingle, a spokesperson for the White House, condemned her remarks to People.
The spokesperson responded, “Natalie Maines is a despicable nobody who clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted her peanut-sized brain.”
Maines is not the only notable person who has had their say on the creation of this new fund; Stephen Colbert used his monologue on last night’s The Late Show to also ridicule the decision.
Colbert, who is bowing down from his nightly slot after 11 years tomorrow night (May 21st), labelled the Anti-Weaponisation Fund as an “all-you-can-fraud buffet” and “an unprecedented level of grift.”
