The Cure have performed their first string of the Disintegration 30th anniversary shows at Sydney’s Vivid LIVE festival.

“We look forward to celebrating the anniversary of this special album with you all,” frontman Robert Smith said prior to the event, before adding: “and remember: this album was mixed to be played loud… so turn it up!”

“Our Reflections shows in 2011 were truly memorable experiences, and with the excitement surrounding those early album performances in mind, we are more than delighted to be announcing our return in May 2019 to present the world premiere of Disintegration – 30th Anniversary,” frontman Robert Smith previously said of the performances.

Smith wasn’t lying, either. The Cure rolled through their extensive back catalogue, performing fan favourite classics alongside a number of live debuts. Opening the set, the band performed ‘Disintegration’ before playing album tracks ‘Homesick’ and ‘Untitled’ for the first time in 17 years.

An eight-song encore closed the night with a rendition of Wendy Waldman song ‘Pirate Ships’ being the last number of the night. Below, find the full setlist and footage from the performance.
