Watch Marlon Wayans and Julia Fox star in trailer for Jordan Peele’s ‘Him’
The official teaser trailer for Oscar-winning Jordan Peele’s latest movie, Him, has been released. In the chilling horror, Marlon Wayans is set to take centre-stage as an eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar.
According to Universal Pictures, the movie tracks the journey “into the inner sanctum of fame, idolatry and the pursuit of excellence at any cost.” The trailer is scattered with images of blood-spattered faces and cloaked figures that appear symbolic of the devil.
Monkeypaw Productions, which will release the movie in September, has also produced landmark horror movies like Peele’s Get Out, Candyman, and Nope. Justin Tipping directed the film, which is taken from an acclaimed Black List screenplay by Zack Akers, Skip Bronkie, and Justin Tipping.
Him stars former college wide receiver Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, who plays a rising-star quarterback devoted entirely to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers brain trauma. This is depicted in a gruesome X-ray shot in the trailer.
However, Wayans’ character extends a lifeline; he offers to train Cameron at an isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity-influencer wife, Elsie White. White will be played by actor, model, and mega-star Julia Fox, known for her role in Uncut Gems. Cam’s character soon “curdles into something darker.”
Three actors will also make their feature film debuts in the film. MMA heavyweight fighter Maurice Greene will star alongside hip hop phenoms Guapdad 4000 and Grammy-nominee Tierra Whack.
It will be available to watch in cinemas on September 19th, 2025.
