Childish Gambino took time out of his latest gig to pay tribute to Mac Miller.
Miller was found dead at his Los Angeles home after an apparent overdose, a coroner confirmed. He was just 26-years-old. The rapper shot to fame in 2011 with his debut album but struggled with substance abuse, even openly rapping about his struggles in multiple songs.
Now, Gambino paid tribute to Miller before dedicating his song ‘Riot’, saying: “so I just wanna say ‘I love you Mac.’”
“He was the sweetest guy,” Donald Glover told the crowd. “He was so nice. And we were both internet music kids, and a lot of critics were like ‘this corny-ass white dude, this corny-ass black dude,’ and we used to talk. And this kid, he just loved music.”
