Watch Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan star in the new trailer for ‘Masters of the Air’
The new trailer has arrived for the new Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air, starring Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan.
The highly-anticipated programme is the follow-up to Band of Brothers and The Pacific. The first two episodes of Masters of the Air are set to be released on the streaming platform on January 26th, 2024, and the remaining seven shows will then land on a weekly basis.
Masters of the Air is an adaptation of a book of the same name by Donald L. Miller and tells the true story of the 100th Bomb Group as they operate in Germany during World War II. In the new trailer, the soldiers are given their roles and Butler’s character, Major Gale Cleven, determinedly states in the preview, “We won’t go without a fight.”
Producer Gary Goetzman previously told Deadline: “Masters of the Air is a salute to the brave men of the 8th Air Force, who, through their courage and brotherhood, helped defeat Nazi Germany in World War II. “om and Steven have always wanted to visualize cinematically what our author Don Miller has called this ‘singular event in the history of warfare.’”
He added: “We’re thrilled that Apple TV+ has given us the opportunity to combine the efforts of so many talented people, on-screen and behind the camera, to tell this important story.”
Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg serve as executive producers on the project. Butler previously revealed that he was offered the leading role by Hanks following their work together on Elvis. The actor claimed Hanks said to him, “You have immersed yourself so deeply in Elvis that, for your mental health, it would be wise to go straight into something else.”
“‘If you just jump off the train, you might have emotional whiplash. And, you know, I’ve got this thing I’m producing’,” Butler said Hanks suggested.
