Violet Grohl announces new London date due to high demand

Violet Grohl has added an extra London show to her upcoming tour due to high demand since the release of her debut album, Be Sweet To Me.

The musician and daughter of Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl shared her debut on May 29th via Aurora Records, swirling with David Lynch inspired soundscapes written in angsty alt-rock.

In April, she announced a string of headline shows taking her around the UK, Europe and the US, including a headline show in London’s Camden Assembly, which boasts a capacity of around 400 guests.

However, the ‘Applefish’ singer has now added an extra date at the venue to her tour due to high demand.

She will kick things off on British soil at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on August 25th, followed by Glasgow’s King Tut’s the night after, ending with two nights in Camden on September 1st and 2nd.

Grohl isn’t just resigned to headline shows. During her stint in Europe, she will also play shows in Berlin, Cologne and Paris. The 20-year-old will then appear at Reading and Leeds Festival, Electric Picnic in Ireland, and Pukkelpop in Belgium.

In an exclusive interview with Far Out, Grohl admitted she felt so “privileged” to be in such a position, adding, “I think there’s an added kind of special essence when it’s something that has been done or been something that’s a part of your lineage. I think that there’s something really, really special about that.”

In a glowing four-star review of Grohl’s debut album, Far Out observed that “Grohl proves to be a virtuoso storyteller with a promising ear for 1990s grunge, offering a messy, dizzying world in the coolest no-fucks attitude since Lyndsey Lohan’s mugshots.”
